March 11th, 2011 by SPJA in News and Information | No Comments

A short time ago, a massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s northeastern coast, which has triggered tsunamis of disastrous proportions along the country’s coastline. In the wake of this devastating news, the SPJA and Anime Expo would like to offer our sincerest of prayers to our friends and colleagues abroad. Our heartfelt thoughts are with Japan as the nation deals with the aftermath of such a tragedy.

The SPJA and Anime Expo wish to do whatever possible to be of help during this difficult time. As of 12:00pm PST, Anime Expo’s webcast AX Live is broadcasting live the latest news on the events and speaking with correspondents in Japan. If you would like to send a message to a friend or family member in Japan, please contact us via Twitter (@AnimeExpo) or send an email to JapanQuake@spja.org.
